January 23 JDC2007 ROCKS!
For the first time in Egypt, the Egyptian Software Engineers Association (ESEA) together with the Egyptian Java Users Group (EGJUG) have jointly organized the Java Developer Conference JDC in Cairo, Saraya Hall , InterContinental Citystars Cairo on the 20th of January 2007. I was the Leader of the ESEA Organization Committee and you already know that I'm a co-founder member in ESEA and "ameen el sando2" as well. The conference was very successfull ALA. There was about 400 Java Developers and they gave us a very positive feedback about it (There was about 65 Java develoepr from ITWorx). the speakers: 1- Raghu Kodali is the author of "Beginning EJB 3 Application Development" and is a consulting product manager and SOA evangelist for Oracle Fusion Middleware. 2- Roman Strobl works for Sun Microsystems as a technical evangelist on the NetBeans project. 3- Chuk Munn Lee works as a senior developer consultant and technology evangelist for Technology Outreach at Sun in Singapore. 4- Rob Harwood has been a professional software engineer for 7 years, and is a technology evangelist at JetBrains, s.r.o. in Prague. for more information you can visit http://jdc.egjug.org The conference was covered by Al-Ahram, Al-Akhbar, Al-Alam Al-Yom newspapers. and we had an interview in "el bernameg el 3am". Roman Strobl said in the closing session that he has attended alot of Java conferences all over the world and this conference is one of the most successfull Java conferences. Sun Microsystems Egypt has decided to give us full support to organize this event on a semi-annual basis / multiple days (just like the MDC). The head of Sun Microsystems Egypt had a meeting with us during the conference to discuss the future plans. The conference was covered by the official websites of Sun Microsystems and some foreign technical magazines.
